Loving your enemies

This week's reading....Luke 6:25-36. Memorization: Luke 6:35 - "But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked."
Tell me what you think.....It speaks volumes to me. Now this is what I call dying to my flesh. But we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us...praise the Lord! :)

I think its funny how each bible verse I read I feel like its talking directly to me! hehe. I know for me and probably most people loving your enemies can probably be the hardest thing EVER. It always gets really tough for me when my group of friends hate a certain person so just to go along I hate them too. I realized thats completely stupid, but I'll admitt it I have done it before : ( After Frontier I realised soooo much. Now I look back and see how stupid hating people was. Also I have had people hurt me very badly in the past and I felt like I could never love them, but just recently after frontier I have let the drama go and I have never felt better. Before when I held grudges on people I was always stressed and unhappy. I absolutly HATE having enemies. 1. it wastes my time and energy and 2. If I hurt somebody (which I know I have) I would want to be forgiven. This bible verse also makes me feel very good about myself...I think its really cool that God has faith in me that I can overcome hatred towards people. Its a very hard thing to do. Right now I have no enemies, I have made peace with everyone and it feels really good. I need to put my energy into the things I love not what I hate. The next time I'm hurt by someone or decide to follow my group of friends I will think of this verse. It will be hard. all this is new to me and hard, but I'm taking one step at a time and I know I can make it through with my younglife leaders, my new AMAZING younglife friends and of course Jesus : )
